The Old Schoolhouse Inn & Restaurant

The Old Schoolhouse Inn & Restaurant was built in 1903 and is listed on the National Register of historical Places.  Experience a Feast for your eyes as well as your taste buds.  Tom & Julie Markert have been serving their community and visitors for 32 years. Natives of the area, their appreciation of local raised food and farming is a way of life.

Serving all natural grass-fed Texas Longhorn beef, known to be leaner and very flavorful.  These magnificent animals can be seen grazing on the sidehill pasture behind the restaurant. Proudly serving local seasonal produce from Heller’s Farm, bread from Bagels & Cream, Roscoe Beer, Bootlegger vodka. and New York Wine.

Enjoy outdoor dining or visit with the locals at the bar. Our casual atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. Some say the bar area is more like a wildlife museum than a tavern.  You can choose to sit next to a wildlife scene or the main dnning room offers  an elegant setting and a handicapp accessible entrance.

The elegant banquet room is available for your private party and weddings are our speciality, with seating up to 150.

The newly renovated Inn has four guest rooms and a jaccuzi suite.
