Evans and Evans Farm sits in a beautiful, unspoiled valley 2,000 feet up in the Western Catskills.
We farm over 300 acres with, not against nature. We practice regenerative agriculture which revolves around rotational grazing, giving pastures plenty of time to rest, and providing our animals with the quality of forage they need to thrive on grass alone. This leads to healthier plants, soils, livestock, and customers, as well as a more bio-diverse local eco-system.
We raise 100% grass-fed Katahdin Hair Sheep for restaurants, butchers and food lovers searching for gourmet quality lamb and mutton. No corn, grains, prophylactic antibiotics or artificial growth hormones are fed to the sheep we sell – just quality field forages (grasses, legumes and forbs) in the growing season and stored forage in the winter.
We stock a selection of frozen lamb and mutton cuts, sausage and ground. Call ahead on (845) 676-3284 to make an appointment to buy and collect our healthy food.
In 2023 we are launching Evans and Evans Events to bring you closer to nature. Our aim is to show you where and how real food comes from. We will be introducing on-farm dining as well as tours to show you the beauty of our farm and the unique ways in which we involve nature with our farming methods.
