DeForest Axe & Toolworks

I’m Stephen DeForest, and I love bringing life back to old axes and other tools. I love to learn and share the history of each piece I acquire. I started antiquing at a very young age and vintage tools were one of my first collections.

I started reviving and restoring, even customizing tools in 2018, and it has become a passion of mine. I got into axes in 2017, when a large tree limb fell out of our tree. I wanted to use the wood for woodworking, as I was building guitars at the time, but I didn’t have a means to harvest the wood.

Our garage contained a small, dull, rusty hatchet. This was the first axe/tool I restored and since then I have bought many more hatchets and other tools. Please let me know if you have a tool you’d like me to restore or customize. I focus mainly on axes and woodworking tools, but I’ve fixed and worked on many other pieces as well.
