This week’s market is the Liberty Farmers’ Market, located at Creekside Park 116 N. Main Street, Liberty, NY. Behind Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation, Enter via School Street.
Catskill Mountainkeeper Farmers’ Market aims to promote local, sustainable agriculture, increased consumer awareness and access to healthy foods, while enhancing the value of our communities and economic opportunities for farmers, small businesses and artisans.
New Safety Measures for Covid-19:
- Everyone must wear a mask
- Remember to socially distance! Stay 6 feet (or two giant steps) apart from others
- Shop with intention and come with a list
- We’re adding space between vendors, to spread everyone out
- This year vendors will handle/bag products, not shoppers, to cut down on the number of people touching products
- Some vendors will provide pre-ordered pickup.
The market is held every Friday from June 12th -September 18th, from 3pm-6 pm rain or shine.
The Liberty Farmers Markets is approved for the Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Vegetables and Fruit Programand Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formally EBT) benefits.
These initiatives provide eligible recipients with vouchers that can be used for the purchase of fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from approved farmers’ markets around New York. The purpose of these programs is both to increase the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables among low income, disadvantaged residents, including seniors and women, infants and children, as well as to increase awareness within the recipient community about the availability and benefits of fresh, local food.
