The newest gem to the Farmers’ Markets in the Catskills is the Jefferson Farmers’ Market.  Jefferson is located along Rt. 10 and N. Harpersfield Road in Schoharie County, NY, just northeast of Stamford. The Jefferson Farmers’ Market is housed within the historic and renovated Maple Museum located at 221 Creamery Street.  Visiting this market is like a step back in time, a simpler time.  Opening day was May 27th, and if the crowds and enthusiasm are any indication, Jefferson will be the place to be this summer!

You will be treated to a wide selection of local farm fresh eggs, honey, cheeses, milk and yogurts, maple syrup and everything you can imagine maple- candy, popcorn, vinegar, barbeque sauce, mustard, sugar, and ground coffee. You will also find,  fresh baked scones, cookies, breads, as well as jams, jellies, marmalades ,organic produce, flats of local raised flowers and vegetables for planting, bees wax candles and creations, lotions and soaps, local spun wool fibers ready for crafting as well as already skillfully crafted wool items, local farm raised chicken, pork, beef, lamb, rabbit and goat meats.  As the summer season progresses, the produce choices become to expansive to list, so you will just have to continue to visit our market each Saturday for new and exciting farm to table choices!

Features: WIC and FreshConnect and SNAP will be accepted. In fact, you can enjoy a Belgian horse drawn wagon ride from Simpler Times Farms, around the beautiful village green.  Throughout the summer there will be demonstrations, and our local Chef cooking delicious farm to table dishes. And kids can visit the free craft center to show off their artistic talents. Although just getting started, the Market has attracted many well established local businesses as vendors.
