Farmers' Market of the Week: Liberty

This week's market is the Liberty Farmers' Market, located at Creekside Park 119 North Main Street Liberty, NY.  The market is held every Friday from June 14-Sepember 13, Fridays from 3pm-6 pm.

Catskill Mountainkeeper is building a more vibrant and sustainable regional food system that feeds our local communities, supports farmers, and builds our food-related economy at the Liberty Farmers’ Market.

Features: Include and feature the market offers. The Liberty Farmers Market is approved for the ‘Farmers Market Nutrition Program’ (FMNP), the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Vegetables and Fruit Program and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formally EBT) benefits.

These initiatives provide eligible recipients with vouchers that can be used for the purchase of fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from approved farmers' markets around New York. The purpose of these programs is both to increase the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables among low income, disadvantaged residents, including seniors and women, infants and children, as well as to increase awareness within the recipient community about the availability and benefits of fresh, local food.
